We had the absolute pleasure of spending the day with Talia, Rob and some of their favorite people yesterday!
The day started with the ladies and gentlemen getting ready at the Wingate by Wyndham Edmonton Airport Hotel (which is gorgeous – btw!) Talia’s suite was full of bright south facing windows which made for the perfect lighting! After wrangling the bridal party and fueling the little ones with Pizza, we were out the door and heading to our first look location.
Prospectors Point & the surrounding area down at the river is absolutely stunning! However, seeing as the sun finally decided to make an appearance, we knew it would be nuts at water level! So, we decided to take our location up to the lookout point.
Now, I will forever be in debt to any bride who hikes in a wedding dress. (THANK YOU, Talia and ladies who made the trek to our location!) We placed rob at one end of a beautiful clearing and let Talia walk up to him, tap him on the shoulder and have him turn around for the grand reveal!
First looks are the perfect opportunity for a sweet, private moment before seeing all of your guests! Plus, they also give us a few extra minutes to snap intimate photos (woohoo!!)
After their first look, the Bridal party headed up the trail for some larger group shots. Their colors looks magnificent against all of the greenery! We took our full group shots, shots of the ladies and shots of the gentlemen, then things got a little interesting.
A wonderful pair of horseback-riders were making their way up the trail and met us on the path. If you know me, I’m no stranger to making friends with random people. When I blurted out “hey! Are your horses friendly?” I wasn’t expecting them to stop.
Not only did the stop and graciously give us the opportunity to take a few shots with their horses, they hopped on a picnic table and showed Talia and Rob how to get on the saddle in their wedding attire! It was an absolutely awesome moment – I couldn’t believe it!
Upon finishing with two horses, a dog, and the bridal party – we were hit with the only rain cloud in all of Alberta. I mean, having a completely clear day seems like a pipe dream this summer! The bridal party powered down the trail and made it back to the limo to dry off in time for the ceremony.
Talia and Rob’s ceremony and reception were held at Clymont Hall. It’s a beautiful, laid back wedding venue just west of Edmonton that actually allows camping on site! Their ceremony was filled with personal touches including their children which was extra special!
We loved spending time with their whole crew for the rest of the evening. Believe me – these guys knew how to party!
Thank you for choosing us, Talia and Rob! We wish you nothing but the absolute best and hope you all enjoy these sneak peeks 🙂
