Be still my heart – yesterday was jam packed with emotion, gratitude, remembrance and a heck of a lot of fireball (for the bride, of course!)
Nikki and Aaron, what an absolutely stunning day we had yesterday. I will be forever thankful thank Nikki and I share an incredible hairstylist who actually referred my business when Nikki got engaged! It’s so hard to believe that a year of planning has come and gone.
We began our day at Nikki’s parent’s house with mimosas flowing and final touches being applied to a stunning group of ladies! Nikki had been telling me about her parent’s backyard for the last few months, and how they intentionally planted their florals to match the wedding theme this year. My jaw almost hit the floor when I walked outside and saw the absolutely gorgeous space we had to work with for bridal details and a sweet first look between Nikki and her Dad!
After Nikki slipped into her gown and exchanged some very special moments with her family and new in-laws, we piled into the party bus and made our way over to Greenland Garden Center.
Greenland Garden Center was the absolute perfect space for their summer ceremony. The space was covered in luscious green grass and a beautiful array of plants!
One of my favorite parts of a wedding day is seeing the pure, raw emotion come out during a ceremony. Aaron burst into the happiest set of tears when he saw his bride walking towards him. It was truly, truly special. After saying their I-Do’s, we stuck around for a gorgeous set of family portraits in the garden. Family is so, so important to these two – especially some of the members who came all the way across the pond and Nikki’s grandma!
We wrapped up our formals at the Muttart Conservatory which is one of my absolute must-shoot spots in Edmonton to see the skyline. I must admit, I panicked a little bit when we got up on the roof and were greeted with a POOL of water. I’m serious – I’m talking ankles deep. But this adventurous group wasn’t even phased, so I kicked my shoes off and we created some absolute magic!
The remainder of the festivities were held at The Radisson Hotel South and filled with intentional details. Aaron gave the sweetest thank-you to Nikki for putting so much time and effort into planning their day, because it was absolutely perfect.
Nikki and Aaron – who ever would have though we would connect over HAIR of all things. From the moment we met at that Sherwood Park Starbucks, I could see just how this was the beginning of something beautiful. You’ve both showed a heart-warming amount of kindness and gratitude throughout this entire process and I couldn’t be happier for you both. Ryan and I are wishing you noting but an incredible life together, and thank-you from the bottom of our hearts for allowing us to play a small role in your story.
