Oh, the weather outside in Edmonton today is FRIGHTFUL, but last night was so delightful. This weather roller coaster is one of the joys associated with being an Edmonton Wedding Photographer, but we roll with the punches!
I’m so happy we had a gorgeous Friday evening in Downtown Edmonton for Stacie and Geoff’s engagement session. We met up at the Muttart Conservatory Grounds – it’s one of my absolute favorite staples to shoot here in Edmonton. It was surprisingly quiet up top for a Friday evening with a perfect sunset lined up. When we finished on top of the pyramids we headed down into the residential streets in the area to walk, talk and get to know each other.
This was brand new for me. As a photographer I can honestly say I tend to stick in my comfort zone of natural areas filled with beautiful trees. But I made a deal with myself in 2019 that I’d step outside of this little box of mine and utilize a multitude of backdrops.
I fell in love with the architecture around the Muttart, and I think Stacie and Geoff did too! There is a stunning mixture of infill developments and character homes that make for a unique vibe I had never experienced here in Edmonton. We even made it down to the Bennett Center which took me right down memory lane. I’m pretty sure I had a school sleepover there in Elementary… which feels like 100 years ago.
I love, love, love what we created last night and can’t wait to work with these two for their special day this summer! Stacie & Geoff, thank you so much for being open, light hearted and full of laughter last night. We are going to have a blast at your wedding!
